About the Project
Mexmast approached us for a quotation to design, supply & install a Cooling & Heating A/c System for 15x office areas within their premises. On this occasion we offered a quotation which was the most expensive out of the 3 quotations the customer received. However the client was impressed in ‘how we operated from initial enquiry, to survey, to quotation to follow up’ so asked us to review the other quotations to see if there was a discrepancy in the quotes and to make sure all quotes were actually like for like. We found that whilst the other 2x contractors had quoted the same number of indoor units and the same cooling capacity indoor units that we had quoted the other 2 contractors had both undersized the outdoor units within their quotes. What this meant was that should all of the indoor units be on at the same time (which was highly likely with this customer as each office is always normally occupied) then the outdoor unit wouldnt have been able to cope in the peak hot weather of Summer and peak cold weather in Winter. We pointed out that we had matched the outdoor capacity to the sum of the indoor capacities so that we knew the system we had designed was fit for purpose, naturally our quote was more expensive because we had quoted a larger capacity and thus more expensive outdoor unit. The customer fully understood our explanation and immediately awarded the project to us.
Installation works took place in an occupied office space over 3 weeks by our own engineers which included the required single and three phase electrical work before our own commissioning team laptop commissioned the system for manufacturer warranty approval.
